I retired and closed Daydreamers Art Studio on April 28, 2020. I plan to enjoy more time working on my art in my studio, Crooked Tree Studio! I have been blessed to have 16 years sharing my love of art with my students.

Daydreamers is owned and managed by Kathleen Hill, a lifelong resident of the Salem area. Kathleen has a Master’s Degree in Art Education (Kent State, 2002) and is certified to teach Visual Art K-12 by the Ohio Department of Education. She is a clay artist who has exhibited in local and regional juried shows in Youngstown, Canton, and Zanesville as well as New Castle and Erie, PA.

"The idea for a children’s art studio is something I’ve thought about for years. During work on my Master’s degree at Kent State University, I enrolled in a summer art practicum. The art practicum gave me experince with a summer art program for children in the city of Kent. It was a wonderful experience that strongly affected my ideas for the possibility of finding a place to operate a student art program in Salem." I have many ideas, yet to be realized, to improve the current space and class offerings. I hope that the studio can grow into a place that meets the need for quality art education in our community. Call or email for a tour or to have any questions answered.

Sarah Ress is joining Daydreamers Studio for the 2019 Summer Session and is offering several new classes for teens.

A note from Sarah:

Hi, I am Sarah Ress. I have been an Art teacher for 10 years. I currently work at Crestview Middle School. I graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelors of Science in art Education and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in 2007. I also have earned my Masters Degree in Special Education. Through my ten years of teaching, I have created classroom environments that are positive, honest, and student centered that quickly build relationships with students. This classsroom climate encourages students at any level to be curious and promote risk taking without fear of failure and to share in the ownership of learning. When I am not in school I love spending time with my family and friends, cooking, creating art, nerding out to my favorite fandoms, or watching humorously bad movies. I am inspired by kindness and creativity.
