Finished project is one unglazed terra cotta pot with one succulent plant. This class meets twice.
First session meets at Daydreamers Art Studio, where you will create a freeform pot. Class begins with demo of basic hand-building techniques. Each student will receive 2 lbs. of clay and can make 2 or more hand-built pots. This gives you a chance to practice and to hopefully have at least one pot you really like! (Number of pots depends on size of pots). Pots will be fired (unglazed) and delivered to Greenest-Living Thoughtfully for the second session. You will choose one pot for the second session.
Second session meets across the street at Greenest-Living Thoughtfully, with owner Emily Ellsworth, to plant a succulent plant in one of your pot. Emily will have selection of succulents to choose the one you like best for your pot. Emily will demonstrate planting techniques, potting soil, and provide info on succulent care.
NOTES: 1. Class fee includes 2 lbs. terra cotta clay and succulent plants and soil for ONE of your finished pots. 2. Additional plants can be purchased during second session if you would like to fill additional pots. 3. Finished pots are unglazed. Arrangements can be made to return to the studio to glaze and fire the exterior of your pot.
